What the Site Is
Bouger Longtemps is devoted to pickleball played by seniors. Its editorial line is to present the sport as it appears to an older player, with sourced information on the rules of the game, health, injury prevention and access to clubs in France.
Who It's For
The intended readers are adults past fifty, retired or close to it, who are discovering pickleball or returning to physical activity after a break. Their families are included too, as they want to understand what happens on the court.
How the Work Is Done
Three habits guide the writing: explain how something works before recommending it, state honestly the limits of what's claimed, and point to official sources whenever they exist.
The articles rest on a base of facts about pickleball for seniors. Each fact is tied to a public source and checked against it before publication. The sources for each article are listed at the end of the text. A glossary goes with them. Each technical term gets an entry with a definition and an example, itself backed by the public source used to check it. That way, articles can link to these entries instead of redefining the same notions over and over. Each page also shows the date of its last modification.
How topics are selected, facts are checked and errors are corrected is set out on the page devoted to the method: Our Commitments.
What the Site Doesn't Do
- It gives no personalized advice. Its content stays general.
- It publishes no sponsored content disguised as information.
- It uses no fake reviews and no invented testimonials.
Warnings
- This site is informational and doesn't replace a doctor's advice: with a chronic illness, pain or any doubt, see a health professional before resuming a sport.
- The rules, licenses and figures of the Fédération française de tennis have been changing since pickleball was delegated to it. Check them with the federation or a club.
